Calling all Glider Guiders!

The next SWIFT meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6 at Chalco Hills.

We wish to thank Dan Lorimer for his work on the SWIFT news letter. I hope to be able to follow in his shoes.

The Mid-Summer T.D. event scheduled for Saturday, June 24 was rained out. It was rescheduled for Sunday, June 25. Not all of the LASS folks received the message of the change. We apologize for the error and next time we will get any changes out in a timely manor.

Sunday the wind was a bit stiff. Four flyers signed up for glider flying and two signed up for E-Glider flying.

In the T.D. event Loren finished first, Terry second, Bob T third and yours truly scratched on the first launch. (note: for sale at a good price, one Graphite 2 fuselage, some work required)

The E-Glider’s did not fly.

We hope to expand the E-Glider event by keeping it simple. The plan is any electric powered aircraft, any battery, any motor, unlimited motor run. Five minute flight time after motor shutdown (300 points) + landing points.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.
