Bellevue Amateur Radio Club is holding two classes for people interested in earning a Technician class Amateur Radio license.

The first class will be held on six consecutive Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, January 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st and February 7th, 2018.  This is one class which spans six nights, each night covering different material.  The class will use an accelerated format and cover in two hours what would normally be covered in three hours.

The second class will be held on three consecutive Saturday’s from 8:30am to 4:30pm, January 20th, 27th and February 3rd, 2018.  This is one class which spans three days, each day covering different material.  The class will follow a traditional format.

Both classes will be held at Bellevue Medical Center, located on the southwest corner of 25th Street and Highway 370.  During the Saturday class sessions there will be a break for lunch.  Students have access to the hospital grill and salad bar.

There is no fee to attend either class.  The classes will follow the format of the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual (3rd Edition).  We recommend each student have a copy of the license manual but it is not required to attend either class.  The manual can be purchased at a discounted price ($25) through the club.

A regularly scheduled Amateur Radio license testing session will take place at Midlands Hospital on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 1:00pm.  There is a $15 fee to take the exam.

Please email education@bellevuearc.org to request more information or to register for the class.  Each class can accommodate up to 24 people.  Please register early if you want to attend either class.

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
