Flooded Omaha Area Flying Fields

If your flying field is flooded and you have no place to fly you can fly without charge at the Lincoln Sky Knight's, Omahawk's or Twin City Eagles Squadron's Fields.

You must be an AMA member to fly at any of the area Club Fields.

I "Keith Paskewitz" at Metro Area R/C Flying think this is the greatest interclub cooperation that we have had in the Omaha area.  Someone needs to write an article and send it to AMA so that other Clubs will be encouraged to follow suit.

On the way to the Cobras Field

Below I have included e-mail that I have received from area clubs

I told our Club President to please let you all come down and fly we are blessed with a great field, let us know how we can help you out.  Clean up rebuilding whatever.

 Thank You,

 Scotty G Long

You might tell the Cobras that we will welcome them as guests at the Lincoln Sky Knights Field until their field dries out.

Please have them email me when they are coming so I can make sure someone is out there to open the gate for them.

LSK President

Keith, the Omahawks want to offer open flying to all area AMA members as we may have the only flying field that isn't flooded, swampy, or too muddy to fly from.

Could you please send the attached flyer to any/all NE and IA pilots you might have e-mail addresses for please?

Ed Paasch

Omahawks President E.J. Murphy has decided to offer flood relief to our fellow Omaha-area AMA pilots whose usual flying fields might be flooded, swampy, or muddy by offering open flying with no landing fees to any card-carrying AMA pilot who wants to come out to Hawk Field and fly with us.

The field will be available to any AMA member who wishes to use it from June 13th through June 22nd except for training night and the Multi-wing Fun Fly as noted in the Attached Flyer.

I'd encourage all Omahawks members to offer our guests warm hospitality while they share our field with us.  Thank you.

Ed Paasch, Treasurer
Omahawks RC

The Council Bluffs, Twin Cities Eagle Squadron field is also open to all AMA flyers during this time. As well as a free impromptu fun fly today, with lunch being served for a donation.

Thanks,

Leighton Smith, VP Twin Cities Eagle Squadron

I publish Metro Area R/C Flying to make a central web site for all the area R/C clubs, not to replace individual club sites, but to tie all of them together and promote growth and interaction between clubs. The most important service of the web site is to post the Metro Area Schedule. The schedule lists all the events for all the clubs in one location so that R/C flyers can see what events are available in the area and plan ahead. I believe it will also help the area clubs to work out their schedules so that a club event, will not conflict, with another club's event. The next most important service is to provide a Page that has maps to all the events, meetings, dinners and parties. Right after that comes the Newsletter Page which lists club newsletters. Reading other club newsletters lets members see what others are offering in the area that they are interested in and promotes interaction between clubs.  This is your web site, if you would like to show-off your newest plane, or share an experience, you can E-Mail pictures and articles to me at: MetroRCFlying@Gmail.com  There’s an Email Link on every page.
